Hi Jean,
I can't answer or give you a magic bullet, but here's some info:
It has been demonstrated that both viruses and bacteria, in addition to injury can cause agglutination of red blood cells. Alot of work has been done on a subject known as psychoneuroimmunology (how's that for a big word), which is the connection between the mind and the immune system. In a simplistic nutshell, yes, all of the things you mention can influence and upset the immune system (and every other system in your body).
Now, what to do about it. There are many things, but above all, understanding why the cravings are happening and proactively stopping them are the most important. All the detox modalities in the world won't help if the bad stuff is going right back in. There are many reasons for craving, both physiological addiction and emotional (food is love) issues. You will have to determine what your issues are, what your children's issues are, etc, and each person must handle their own. We can assist, but can not do it for you, and you can't do it for them. It can be done, that's the good news.
best wishes,
steve shapiro
