In Response To: Protection from prostate cancer without tomatoes (Mary)
My father died in August from metastasized prostate cancer, which was recognized after massive bone involvement. He had thought he had it licked after an initial diagnosis and treatment twelve years before, followed by a scrupulous low fat diet. I am so happy your husband is taking an early interest in lowering his risks.
The local support group (in Syracuse) of "Man to Man," organized by the American Cancer Society, has been taking an interest in clinical tests of P.C. SPES. which is a brand name for an herbal mixture. Although the mix did not put all patients into remission, enough saw some change to
encourage others to try it. You might want to take a look at the ingredients listed on the very expensive bottles and see what seems like a Type B item and OK for chronic use.
I assume you are looking for something in addition to the usual antioxidants - type B's have cabbage and broccoli as highly beneficials, for example.
With my best wishes,
