The Blood Type Diet Archives Volume 3

You don't always need supplements

In Response To: Anyone know about Lysine supplements? (Lori)

http://www.herpes.com/Nutrition.shtml has a list of arginine vs. lysine in foods. In order to suppress herpes (and, I believe, other viruses) you simply must eat more lysine than arginine. I have been following this for years and during this time have only had outbreaks when 1) I was a yeast-killing diet or taking yeast infection medicine or 2) when I used certain cosmetics (usually with "night repair" in their titles.

Also during this time, I have avoided eating all nuts, some seeds, and corn. Nuts and seeds are allowed on the O type diet, but I still avoid them. I am a type O WITH a virus. The combination of the two diets makes me feel absolutely wonderful. I keep lysine tablets handy just in case I accidently eat some seeds, nuts, or corn. Otherwise, I don't take them. This works.

I have been on ER4YT since August 1997. Since it heals so many ways, I wonder if eventually I can eat the beneficial nuts and seeds. I wish Dr. D. would comment on this, but so far he hasn't.

Good luck,
Julie
