Purpose of avoidance
Posted By: Barrie Date: January-28, 1998 at 23:01:28
Hi, Dr. D. I've been reading the book and moving into an O diet, but I have a question about the purpose of "avoiding" some foods. When I read the book I had the impression that a) foods to be avoided were in this category because they were primarily detrimental -- they did some kind of damage to the body. b) But on the O forum you described how someone, who doesn't need to loose weight, could upgrade a number of foods (from neutral to beneficial). c) This suggests that under certain circumstances, foods are not damaging, just a weight factor and they could move into another category. d) I had the impression "neutral" meant insufficient research to justify an HB or Avoid classification. Thanks for any clarification. If you've already covered this elsewhere, my apologies, I'm slowly working through as many messages as I can but it's time consuming on this websites' structure. Barrie
