I forgot to be explicit about Schaff et al's result on which I based my inference. Fucosylated TSH could activate either the cAMP or the IP pathway, as could the mannose glycosylated TSH. So if one's TSH had either enough mannose or fucose glycosylation, then both pathways for nerve transduction would work. Lack of mannose reduced the activity of both cAMP and IP. I'm not rushing out to buy either mannose or fucose, but I am FOR SURE going to avoid lentils. Joan(O)
