My dad had thyroid cancer over 10 years ago, and continues to take a low dose of Synthroid after 1/2 of his thyroid was removed. I am hypothyroid, and take more that double his dose (.25) It amazes me that his 1/2 thyroid is functioning far better than my whole one, even with Synthroid I'm taking.
