Two questions: (1)concerning aluminum in cooking. (2) what is "iron algae"?

There has been much discussion concerning metal toxicity on the board. I am concerned about the use of aluminum cooking pans and utensils. Would anyone care to comment on this? I would also like to know where a person could obtain a rice cooker that has a stainless steel cooking-pot, instead of the aluminum ones I always find. My second question has to do with well-water. We have a well. Our drinking water is filtered, but the water for the rest of the house only goes through a water softener. There is something red in this water which the plumber calls "iron algae." Could anyone give me some insight into this occurance and what to do about it? Should I install a "whole house" filter? Thank you.
