The arginine/lysine ratio is simply that in order to starve out some pathogens, you need to have more lysine in your diet than arginine (or so the theory goes). http://www.herpes.com/Nutrition.shtml has a list of food values and an explanation. I think that this works not only for herpes, but for other pathogens so if you don't have herpes, it still could help.
What works for me is to follow the O type diet--I try for 100%, but never, ever eat wheat or corn or any of the foods on any of the seeds and nuts list. That is, if I am 80% for the day, it is because of some other food (cheese, pepper, cabbage, etc.) that I couldn't avoid at someone's house or at a restaurant. At restaurants where it is difficult to stay on the diet, I simply stay as high protein as possible.
I don't know how this works for other blood types. I'm putting this on the board hoping to get some discussion going or hopefully to attract the attention of someone who could test it. Whatever is going on here with me is, I think, real. I've been doing it for a long time with good results (the type O diet completed my cure) and have always wished that I could pass the information along to others who have suffered similarly. I'm not a doctor or a scientist and I can't tell you why it works any further than my theories and personal experiences go. And I can't say if you're flirting with disaster. But I give it to you to try IF you think something isn't quite going right. I know that if I were using the O type diet and still eating the nuts, I would still be having some of the problems. It is the combination of the two to which I credit my success. I am a type O AND I have certain viruses in my body.
If you thought you had information that could help people, wouldn't you tell it?
Thanks for listening.
