The Rh system, unlike the ABO, is a true "Blood type" in that it does not appear anywhere outside of the red blood cells. The ABO system, is found on the RBC's, but is actually more abundantly found in the digestive tract, hence the significance with regard to diet.
Because you were born O Rh- you did not invoke an antibody reaction from your mom's immune system (this would have been different had you been born Rh+)
The Zone protocol, (as also with Atkins) tends to work better in type O's, this is true. However neither take into effect the individuality even found in type O, such as the special responses to lectins, etc. The Zone diet has some very employable features if you are type O; by the way. I think it can best be described as "if you are type O, you will be more negatively impacted by being out of the zone, than the other types." Other blood types can also use many of the Zone principles to some effect though.
I would do the exercise protocol for type O, at least 35 minutes 5x weekly, plus the O diet, for 4-6 weeks. I think you will be happy with the results.
