Dear Tom, In a type O, soy is not a good substitute for meat. Yes, I do believe that changing your diet to the basic O diet will help not only with weight reduction, but also should help optimize your insulin metabolism. Type II diabetes is not a disease of insulin deficiency, but rather insulin sensitivity. Peter
