Dear Dr. Joe, One of the best general references on lectins (though old) is a 1982 review published in Scientific American by Nathan Sharon. It will give you a very nice feel for the basic concepts and history. I would then begin to pull up the references I've listed in the back of ER4YT. These I would retrieve manually, then begin to "reverse engineer" them by going to pertinent references cited in these articles. A good review of lectins is in an article by DJ Freed in "Food Allergy and Intolerance" (Tom Kruzel can give you the Editors name and publisher). I will be doing more research this summer. Hopefully you, Tom, me and others can compare notes as to what we find. Good luck to you, Peter
