In Response To: Type A w/Hpylorea bacteria & excess stomach acid? (Roger Olsen)

Dear Roger,

H. pylori doesn't typically grow in type A, but might if you were an out-of-balance type A secretor who had a recessive O gene. This would allow you to secrete the H antigen, which would give some characteristics of O to your digestive tract. Definitely get going on the A diet. If you are sensitive to soy, leave it out for 3-5 weeks, then slowly re-introduce it.

You might also try taking 1-2 capsules of golden seal daily (better before bedtime). This can help kill or neutralize the H. pylori.

Hope this helps,
Peter
