Dear Tom, I'll let you know how Dr. Atkins does with my theory after the FAIM convention in NYC this weekend! Frankly, perhaps the sciatica is co-incidental? I do however think the added magnesium is a good idea. The real answer to the question will only be learned if the sciatica seems to reappear with more regularity as you stay on the diet longer. Bromelain, an enzyme made from pineapples, is also an excellent anti-inflamatory that you can use. It works best if taken right at the onset of inflamation (500mg every 2-3 hours) Peter
