In Response To: Blood Type B with Type II Diabetes (Kent Kennerly)
Dear Kent, Type B diabetics (especially type II DM) do very well on the blood-type specific diet. Be epecially careful of foods that contain lectins which react with your blood type antigen. These include especially corn and chicken. Supplements for DM2 are several, but I would recommend especially an anti-oxidant called Quercetin, which has been shown to block many of the effects of the diabetes state on tissues, such as nerves, the cornea and macula of the eye, and also the cardiovascular system. A typical dose is 500mg twice daily away from food. Peter
