Type A and weight training

Dear Dr. D'Adamo, I am trying to gain weight rather than lose weight. Most of the literature that I've read states that eating meat (lean red meats, poultry, and dairy protien) are integral to gaining muscle mass. Yet, according to the Type A meal planner in your book, protien intake is restricted mainly to plant sources. Even under your diet my protien intake would be grossly inadequate.
