Type O and Autoimmune Disease
Posted By: Nita Aines Date: March 08, 1997 at 15:30:18
I am a type O with a history of allergies, asthma, nasal polyps hypergammaglobulinemia, and more recently with Churg Strauss Vasculitis which is an autoimmune disease. I am intrigued by your ideas and the diets. I have had some less than positive experiences in the past with alternative approaches, so I am somewhat skeptical. However, I am curious enough and sick enough to give it a try. One concern that I have right now is the effect, if any, of the medications that I am currently taking: prednison (in a tapering dose), imuran, theodur, and amitriptyline (for the nerve pain which resulted from the nerve damage due to the vasculitis). This process was described to me as an inflammatory autoimmune process. I have recently started exercising again. Any other thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. I have just started the diet and plan to stick with the beneficial and neutral foods. Can't wait for the cookbook to come out.
