Type O: Effect of Diet?

If following the blood type diet "corrects" a health condition, will the health condition stay corrected? or is it conditional on my strictly following the diet?Is the diet "the medicine" that will correct it and make me well again OR is this a medicine I must continue to take the rest of my life?
