In Response To: type o+ iodine (aal)
Dear AAL, I don't think kelp or baldderwrack (in reasonable amounts!) are going to constitute too high of a dose of iodine in a moderately hypothyroid type O. Much of the problem is related not to amounts of iodine, but rather the inability of the plasma proteins to bind to iodine and transport it. Bladderwrack is a special case, as its main effect is due to its fucose content, not iodine. See the other posts on O's/Thyroid/ Bladderwrack for more information. Peter
