In Response To: Endometriosis and Blood Type (Mary Heine)

Mary,
Although I did not specifically mention endometriosis in the book, I have had several patients with elevated CA125 levels (attributable to endometriosis, and not ovarian cancer) see marked drops when changing to the diet. As there is considerable interaction between gut microflora and ABO blood type, perhaps the Blood Type Specific diet has the effect of decreasing colon bacteria levels of strains possessing opposing blood type actvity. These could be a problem with regard to innappropriate immune sensitization.

Fish oil supplements can be of service in A's and B's. i typically don't use them much in type O.

Peter
