I was first diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica in 1991, I am now 56 years old. I have been able to reduce my dosage froman initial 20mg a day to 3mg a day. But I get periodic flare-ups that necessitate increasing my dosage to 10 mg and gradually reducing back down to 3mg. I have a theory that my conditioin was caused by silicone injections I received in my face to eliminate age lines, and irregularities. I find it very depressing to have flare-ups...and to feel a constant lack of energy.
They say that eventually this disease goes away - but I don't believe it.
