My Dad has been suffering from polymyalgia since May 1997. He was finally dianosed in October after having undergone two carpal tunnel sugeries. He was put on 40 mg of prednisone and tapered to 15 over a three month period. This was helpful until he developed bronchitis . The pain came back and he is back on 40mg. to no avail. He has a symptom which I have not read about in that he is often unable to swallow his meals. He seems to have esophageal spasms which begin with hiccups and then continue into gagging and coughing. HELP!! Thanks
