In Response To: Ketogenic diets (Brett Jacques ND)
I have been on the Atkins diet for 2 1/2 months and lost 20 pounds. Not only am I never hungry, I never feel tired and I actually have move energy than I have had in years. My mother-in-law has also been very successful on the plan.
I had bloodwork done before and after the 2 1/2 months. My cholesterol, triglycerides, etc. were in a normal range beforehand and are now very low. My total cholesterol was 176 and is now 153, my HDL was 62 is now 60 my LDL was 128 is now 83, my triglycerides were 82 and now 47. I am amazed at the results and so is my doctor. My mother-in-law saw similar results in her bloodwork and now her doctor believes this is a good plan (he is a straightshooter who is not given to fad diets). Whether or not you taste or smell metallic ketones--I truly believe this is the best diet ever! Very livable too!
