ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO, I WENT PRE-MENOPAUSAL. ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO I STARTED HAVING SHINGLES ATTACKS, WHICH ARE ESPECIALLY BAD FROM MAY TO SEPT. I STAY ON 400 MG DAILY OF ACLOVAR AS PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE. I HAVE HAD 3 COMPLETE PHYSICALS WITH NO DETECTION OF ANYTHING THAT MIGHT BE IMPAIRING MY IMMUNE SYSTEM. MY QUESTION IS: CAN HORMONAL STRESS FROM MENOPAUSE LOWER THE IMMUNE SYSTEM OR CAUSE THE STRESS THAT MIGHT BE CAUSING THE SHINGLES OUTBREAKS. I HAVE BEEN TO 3 DIFFERENT DOCTORS AND THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING, BUT AT THE SAME TIME CANNOT COME UP WITH ANY OTHER REASON FOR THE ATTACKS. THANKS FOR ANY INPUT.
