I was diagnosed with Polymigia in June of 96.
I was placed on 20mg of prednisone and tapered
down to 10mg. I also take feldene (anti-
inflamitory) once a day. In April of 97 I also
started on 200mg of Plaqunel. I stared a gradual
taper in August and got down to 7mg of prednisone
and did well for two weeks and then the symptoms
returned with a vengence. I also take 10mg of
Elivil (an anti-depressent) at night. The strange
thing is, is that my sed rate is only 2. This
is a very frusterating disease. My Dr. wants me to
increqase the Elivil to 30mg while slowly tapering
down on the Prednisone. I am back up to 15mg at
present and am not getting much relief. I feel
very week in the arms and legs and have pain in
those areas..My Dr. is going to be doing some more
tests to make sure he is not missing anything.
I am 59 years old with a small frame and am worried
about bone loss because of the Prednisone. I also
had colon cancer in 1997 and have not had any
more problems in that area as of this date. Please
let me know if you know of anyone with the same
problems, drugs, or any therapy that helps.
