I too switched to Armour and feel much better. But it is not a "new" medicine--it is the natural thyroid hormone from cows which was used for years and years before the synthetic. One of the developers of the synthetic told me they were mistaken in thinking that one only needed T3 and T4, which Synthroif provides. The natural provides a much broader spectrum of thyroid hormones, which now appear to be important for a small percentage of people, like myself. I am much better on Armour. No more low T3. And in fact, over time on Armour I am requiring less and less replacement hormone which is good news.
