I can understand the concerns about using
bone meal in the garden. Who really knows what
gets ground up with that stuff?
I've been using granite dust in my garden
for two years, and my tulips and lilacs look
great. That's quite a feat for someone like me
who managed to kill 5 cacti plants when I
lived in S. California!
If anyone is interested, I got my bucket of
granite dust free from a company that makes tomb-
stones. Look in the Yellow Pages.
