I'm truly sorry Kathy for coming across as incompassionate! My husband is actually just like the people I was describing & I do feel great compassion for him with his "food addictions" and cigarette habit. I just wish he felt as dedicated to being healthy as you do. I just feel "lucky" I am able to stave off the cravings. However, I have done it through the hard work of diet control and I have had downfalls like you speak of. I just happen to be OK at the moment and am searching to find out the answer to this question that has been haunting me. Why, such a craving? Thank you Ed for the Townsend letter info. I plan to ask my local library to get it in. Really, I am not being judgemental, just descriptive in my research notes and it looks like it has stirred the embers & ruffled the feathers enough to get the responses I need to understand the mind/body connection. Thank you all for your candid response.
