Dear Sookie, All rices are OK . The white rice is more refined, hence it has a higher "glycemic index" (ease of conversion to sugar) which some people would have problems with. Beri Beri is quite rare, as most foods nowadays are fortified with B vitamins whether you need them or not. Peter
