In Response To: Heidi is it ok for A's with thyroid problems also ? (Kai ,A+)

Echinacea purportedly boosts the immune system, which can be bad for people with autoimmune disorders. Most people with hypothyroid have an autoimmune disorder call Hashimoto's disease. They should NOT take echinacea. If you have some other cause of low thyroid, then it shouldn't be a problem for you. Since you aren't on medication, I'm guessing you probably have some other cause and echinacea isn't likely to be a problem for you. But ask your doc why you are hypothyroid to be sure.
