Grapefruit & High BP meds?

I was chatting last night with a friend who has high BP and kidney failure ( on a transplant list) right now she has bronchitis and cold symtons. I suggested she drink some grapefruit juice and she told me she can't have grapefruit products with her High BP meds. Can anyone tell me why this is? Sounded weird to me.
