canned tastes a bit fishier if with skin

If it's canned with the skin and bones, it's providing far more nourishment to you, but may be a bit on the fishier side. A fatty addition, like homemade mayonnaise, with plenty of lemon squeezed on top and some green spices and garlic, will eradicate the fishiness.

do try to avoid farm-raised fish. It's a sick industry producing sick animals for the most part, and from the consumer point of view it is harmful to the sea bio-layer and for much less nutritional value per fish eaten.

I do not want to think of the noble salmon, an Irish symbol of wisdom, put to these purposes and this kind of life. just my emotional two cents. :-}

sardines are very smelly, but quite mild tasting. They do well crushed into garlic, lemon, herbs and a dollop of tomato sauce. Wonderful!
