Raising Eyebrows Over Eary Humans Research

In Response To: my understandings on this subject (Earl O+)
First, as to hunter-gatherer vs. farming: let me just say that I once promised myself never to move to a place that had a farming report regularly on the tv news.
Now, about all this research on early humans. While it's all generally fascinating and worthwhile, I maintain we know very little about what on earth happened on earth before the legitimate dawn of recorded history. WAY too many variable to draw even a semi-solid opinion from, in my view.
To illustrate what I mean (literally), the most recent research on dinosaurs indicates at least one or two species were apparently covered in possibly colorful FEATHERS.
Just try getting that image out of your head now. =)
