Normally I believe in back up files, but since I am so new, I had not even bought zip disks for the zip drive, that I had just even hooked up about three weeks ago. I couldn't even GET to the files to try to back them up. My Netscape went into this loop, where it kept asking me to set up an new profile, and would not launch. So, I had my DSL, but no way to access the net, or get to my files. It was sweatin' bullets time there, when I was talked through the steps to reinstall my operating system. (The CD's that came with the iMac, you could not tell where the Netscape resided., so we were not even sure that it was on the reinstall CD's. Consequently, we couldn't just reinstall the Netscape.)

It was a big lesson in patience, and BACK UP EVERYTHING! (And, not to ASSume, that I could rename my hard drive after my cat! HA!)
