HDL unusually high... maybe not?

Well, just to add to the general confusion here... my total cholesterol is 181, HDL is 83, LDL is 86. The report indicates that the ratio is derived, as Bob L says, by dividing total cholesterol by HDL. In my case, that comes out to 2.2.
