In Response To: Totally feeling massively sorry for myself today! (Edna O+, in major RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE mode)

Dear Edna,
Poor you - what a total nightmare. I have been suffering quite badly in the last couple of weeks with my back - due to all sorts of stress I think. At one point, it was so bad I didn't think I could make it out of the house. I ended up getting one massage - I know, it was a stretch for me finacially. Then I, at the masseuse's recommendation, went home, lay down and put ice on my back. I guess it had become pretty inflamed. I found that the only pain killer that worked for me was Aleve. I don't think any of this medication is good for the body in any way - except if you are in excruciating pain, and it sounds like you are. The next day, after work, I put ice on my back again. I took about four aleve in a twenty four hour period - no pain. It was such a relief. I am sure that if the nurse says you can take ibuprofen, I don't think Aleve will harm your burn either. Some years back, I was very badly burnt in a fire (mostly on my stomach and one leg) and I depended on pain killers, just to get me through the pain for the first 6 weeks.
Anyway, I think you are having a very rough time - and may need to give yourself some O treats - how about a yummie smoothie - pineapple juice, banana and some dark chocolate chips? or maybe some toffuti, dairy free ice cream.
You will get through all this - when in doubt - keep on posting here.
Love and hugs
Suzanna xxx
