Need so quick help please

I am getting ready to venture into something I have never eaten : Swiss chard (white) when I realized I don't have a clue about this stuff..do i boil it saute it? do you eat the white stem part or just the leaves, does it taste like spinach? It is laying on the kitchen counter just staring at me...
