'Archive Sleuths': Which are the most helpful threads?

I would like to put the best threads (for newcomers or die-hards to read) in some easy to access place. If you find a thread in any of the archives that you would like to nominate as being especially useful, do this:
1. click on the first post in the thread, and the copy the URL (the address at the top of the browser; highlight and pressing CTRL-C works for most people).
2. Then post under my post here, and paste the URL either as a link or in the body of your post.
3. Add a description of the thread and I'll use it on the listing page!
Thanks. This will make it much easier to find the real gems in what is now over 50,000 individual posts.
