Recipe Error?

Page 128 of the ERFYT has a black bean soup recipe that seems to underepresent the vegetable broth needed. After you've soaked the beans, cooked them and discard the cooking water it says to add 1/8 cup of vegetable broth. Should it really be 8 cups?
