In Response To: O negative/pregnancy risks????? (Melinda)
Melinda,
My husband is A+ and I am B-. My first and only child, a daughter, is O+. Had never heard of this shot until I was pregnant. Actually there are two (2) shots. First is given in early stages of pregnancy, second is given a short time after child's birth. Shots feel like "liquid fire ants", but payoff (healthy future children) is worth it. Modern medicine has given us quite a gift with this discovery. Unfortunately, was never able to conceive another child due to my husband's low fertility, so can't say whether shots worked for me (I'm sure they would have). Make your doctor aware of your concerns. If he doesn't ask or does not seem concerned, find yourself another doctor. This is not rocket science and the solution to the Rh- problem has been field-tested and works.
