pituitary hormone/ vs thryoid ?

I am thking throid meds. It was suggested that the other gland is the lower functioning hormone. But the test for the p gland is supposed to be expensive, painful and not worth the effort if the thryoid meds will do the trick. What foods help the p gland function?
