I recently got a kick out a criticism of ER4YT by the Price-Pottenger people (paleodiet people). In the criticism of ER4YT the author went on about how 'lectins are incativated by heating, don't pass from the digestion into the blood stream,' blah, blah. In the next article, co authored by the same person, there is a whole section trashing soy because of 'dangerous hemmagglutinins'. Apparently what the critic failed to realize was that 'hemmagglutinins' are 'lectins'.
Listen, the literature on soy is very mixed, and most of these alarmists only cite the studies which support their argument (ever notice that paleo-meaters are anti-soy, and vegans, are of course, anti-meat?) may of which show results only in one species, but not in others.
Remember, one man's food is another's poison. If you are type A soy will prevent problems with your cardiovascular, hormonal and immune system.
Beware of agenda-driven reductionists.
