Renee, you know, it is so weird because after all the time, effort, and money I spent at the chiropractor's practice I honestly have no idea if it helped me, hurt me, or had no effect in the end. I think it helped and hurt. My back is better in some ways, worse in others. Who knows. The experience had some very bad parts and some good parts. I really have mixed feelings about it to this day and it is so hard for me to comment one way or the other without feeling "No, that isn't exactly what I meant to say." I think the bottom line with chiropractors is, be skeptical and trust your instincts. There are some good ones out there, and they do try to treat the whole person which is so refreshing during this Orwellian age of managed care. And good chiropractors have helped people who no one else has helped, as we've heard even in this "thread." However, the bad ones can do damage to one's health and pocketbook, so be careful.
