I'll do my best to address some of your questions. First off, this is brand-new information, hot off the presses; Dr. D. just answered this post this morning, so it's quite possible Steve has not yet seen it and integrated the information into his lists yet (I haven't checked). Steve's a wizard, but even wizards need a little time to work their magic!
How does tamari help your family stay off wheat and msg?
Differentiating the various soy products: I don't know. Probably depends on why they were originally differentiated on Steve's lists, and whether this new information affects any of them differently than others. If it were me, and my family, however, I'd avoid the lot of them (or, at least, I'd have my B family members avoid them) until I heard differently, from Steve's lists, Greg Kelly, or Dr. D. You could go into the recent Archives and track down Peter's original "HERE..." post, read it, and see what was used in the experiment; I think it said a soy extract, unspecified.
Tamari, soy sauce, and miso are fermented soy products, yes. Tempeh is also fermented soy. Tofu, I think, is fermented, too. I would read the post to mean that, yes, soybeans are now no longer HB for B's, but are Avoids.
This is new information, and you can make your own judgements concerning it. Hope what I've written has helped you understand it a little better. sc
