In Response To: Personality test again. (Patricia(pattio))
Personality instruments such as the MBTI are useful for understanding ourselves and others. Most of us labour under the mistaken belief that others think the same way as we do. Understanding the differences helps us to get along better. For example, introverts don't function well in a noisy atmosphere. Because they renew themselves from the inside, they need peace and quiet to think. Extraverts, on the other hand, need to socialize with other people in order to renew their energy. Perceivers are not deliberately late; they just have a difference set of priorities. Judgers tend to see this tendency as a character flaw, rather than as the personality attribute that it is. The founders of the MBTI hoped that their work would lead to people being more accepting of the personality differences among us. Check out some of the many sites on the web devoted to this topic. By the way, neither the MBTI or Kiersey's version are tests as there are no right or wrong answers. They are merely sorting instruments.
