I breastfed 14 months while on O diet. I ate as much as I wanted or needed to eat to get rid of the hunger but I stayed away from the grains. You might need to have more oils (flaxseed works wonders) and red meat. I would also look at the amount of water you drink. I needed about a gallon a day to keep my milk production up and I could not do strenuous exercise while I was feeding. I would take lots of long walks and do crunches, but I did not have the energy to do more. Listen to your body and don't push it while you are needed to feed your baby.
Every time my little guy grew I needed to eat more red meat and more oil more frequently. I often would keep a beef roast in the fridge and cut pieces off that as I needed it. I also would poach salmon and have that cold.
During the past 7 months AFTER I FINISHED BREASTFEEDING I have lost 35 lbs. of body fat but increased my muscle mass by 25 lbs. I lift freee weights and do plyometrics 3x per week inspersed with hard cardio between each set. On off days, I run 35-50 minutes or ski or do some cardio machine. I also have borrowed Tae-bo and use the 1 hour hour on alternating days.
