I agree with you Steve!! EVERYONE tells me they have candida. The fact is that everyone does!! Its when this little guy overtakes the "good" bugs in the race to be No. 1 bug in the bowel! I find the number one cause of this is a poor diet, followed closely by antibiotic use. No surprises there!!
Short chain fatty acids (eg. proprionic/buteric and acetic acids) made by biff. bacteria when they ferment Fructoligosaccarides (soluble fibre). These acids kill candida. Of course loads of people lack sol. fibre. This is the number one defence, along with a good immune system, for the control of candida.
I have included a list for those whom are interested for other treatments which can be combined with ER4YT for the treatment of candida.
These Substances Inhibit or Kill Candida albicans
Amino Acids
Candida albicans destroys the body's Glutamine supplies.
Antioxidants
Antioxidants reduce the Free Radical damage caused by Candida albicans.
Carbohydrates
Chitosan inhibits the proliferation of Candida albicans.
Glucomannans suppress the proliferation of Candida albicans.
Carotenoids
Beta-Carotene may protect against Candida albicans proliferation [scientific research - levels of Beta-Carotene in the exfoliated vaginal cells of females afflicted with Candida albicans proliferation were 6 times lower than the Beta-Carotene levels in the exfoliated cells of control subjects].
Enzymes
Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) (injected intravenously) reduces the proliferation of Candida albicans.
Immune System Cells
The Macrophages of the Immune System are capable of destroying Candida albicans.
Lipids
Alpha Linolenic Acid (LNA) is an effective fungicide that can kill Candida Albicans yeast on contact and can dislodge deep seated Candida organisms.
Caprylic Acid inhibits the growth of Candida albicans in the Intestines:
- Caprylic Acid is incorporated into the membranes of Yeast Cells and then these membranes rupture, killing the yeast cells [scientific research - in vitro].
Echinacoside prevents the recurrence of infection by Candida albicans [scientific research].
Linoleic Acid (LA) is an effective fungicide that kills Candida albicans on contact and can dislodge deeply entrenched Candida organisms.
Microorganisms
Bifidobacteria bifidus recolonizes the Digestive Tract with beneficial Bacteria.
Lactobacillus acidophilus inhibits the proliferation of Candida albicans (by recolonizing the Digestive Tract) [scientific research - humans: a study conducted at Long Island Jewish Hospital and published in the Annals of Internal Medicine reported that females with recurrent vaginal proliferation of Candida albicans who consumed 200 grams of Lactobacillus acidophilus-containing Yogurt had a significant reduction in the number of Candida albicans infections and laboratory measured Candida albicans colonization].
Lactobacillus rhamnosis recolonizes the Digestive Tract's Beneficial Bacteria.
Saccharomyces boulardii (SB) may prevent the further spread of Candida albicans [scientific speculation].
Minerals
Optimal Copper levels enhances the body’s resistance to Candida albicans proliferation [scientific research].
Germanium inhibits the growth of Candida albicans [scientific research].
Zinc deficiency increases susceptibility to infection by and proliferation of Candida albicans and Candida albicans proliferation lowers the body’s Zinc levels [scientific research].
Pharmaceutical Drugs - Anti-Fungals
Amphotericin B inhibits Candida albicans proliferation..
Imidazoles (applied topically within the Vagina as a Vaginal Suppository) are often prescribed to treat vulvovaginal infections of Candida albicans:
- Miconazole Nitrate (applied topically in the form of a 2% cream) exerts anti-fungal effects against Candida albicans (where Candida albicans inhabits the upper layers of the Skin or the Vagina).
Nystatin (administered as tablets orally) is one of the few substances that can totally destroy Candida albicans.
Proteins
Lactoferrin (in its apo-Lactoferrin form) can kill Candida albicans [scientific research: apo-Lactoferrin suppresses Candida krusei more potently than it suppresses Candida albicans].
Quinones
Coenzyme Q10 facilitates the elimination of Candida albicans.
Rhein helps to suppress Candida albicans.
Vaccines
Biostim prevents infection by Candida albicans.
Vitamins
Biotin decreases the proliferation of Candida albicans.
Candida albicans is an enemy of Vitamin C and supplemental Vitamin C counteracts the Vitamin C deficiency that can occur as a result of Candida albicans proliferation.
Candida albicans is an enemy of Vitamin E and supplemental Vitamin E therefore counteracts the Vitamin E deficiency that can occur as a result of Candida albicans proliferation.
Other Therapies that Counteract Candida albicans
Oxygen Therapy (utilizing controlled dosages of Hydrogen Peroxide or Ozone and administered by a qualified physician) is sometimes utilized in the treatment of Candida albicans.
These Foods or Herbs Inhibit or Kill Candida albicans
Algae
Spirulina inhibits Candida albicans.
Bee Products
Propolis enhances the ability of Anti-Fungal Pharmaceutical Drugs to destroy Candida albicans (i.e. Propolis lowers the resistance of Candida albicans to the effects of Anti-Fungals).
Herbs
Agrimony inhibits the growth of Candida albicans (due to its Anti-Fungal properties).
Black Walnut exerts Anti-Fungal effects against Candida albicans.
Cinnamon inhibits the growth of Candida albicans.
Echinacea prevents the recurrence of Candida albicans proliferation (due to its Echinacoside content) [scientific research].
Goldenseal suppresses Candida albicans.
Lemon Grass (oil) inhibits the proliferation of Candida albicans (due to the Aldehyde content of Lemon Grass oil) [scientific research].
Oregano (consumed orally) and (more potently) Oregano Oil (applied topically or ingested orally) inhibits (and sometimes kills) Candida albicans.
Pau D'Arco treats Candida albicans (due to its Xyliodone content).
Skullcap inhibits Candida albicans (due to the Baicalein content of Skullcap) [scientific research].
Suma is claimed to inhibit Candida albicans proliferation.
Oils - Non-Dietary
Neem Oil inhibits the growth of Candida albicans.
Tea Tree Oil (added to the bath water or diluted and gargled orally) may help to suppress Candida albicans.
Vegetables
Carrots contain a Phytoalexin compound that inhibits Candida albicans by damaging its cell membranes [scientific research].
Garlic is capable of totally eliminating Candida albicans from the human body [scientific research - mice - aged extracts of Garlic have shown to be most effective for the treatment of Candida overgrowth - other forms of garlic were barely effective -intravenous injection produces best results - method of operation appears to be via the stimulation of the phagocytic action of Macrophages].
Happy reading,
Stephen.
