As I recall, he celebrated one of his birthdays (when he was past 50), by pulling a tugboat across a harbor in Japan.
LaLanne is the real thing: hard working, optimistic, able to prove out what he preaches in his own life, not eager to get rich, just be happy. His views on fitness are worth listening to.
I don't know if he's a vegetarian or not. Over the years, he has concocted different health food combos for different purposes, and I think these were always non-meat. But I don't know if he's ever clearly espoused vegetarianism. I'd be interested in hearing what he has to say about ER4YT.
