Hi Connie!
Robin and Cindy had EXCELLENT suggestions for you. Just wanted to put in my $.02, and tell you what happened to me. I gained weight at first on this diet (not to discourage you) because i was a VEGAN for 12 years. My body was SO screwed up. So, I followed for about 3 mos. and gained 5-6 lbs. slowly. I have tailored the diet now so that I have lost those 5-6 lbs. and then some by eating 99% protein and vegetables. I eat almost NO complex carbs. Maybe rice every two weeks or so. The O system is not well suited for grains at all. I eat lean, organic beef, with either salad, or steamed veggies every day. Fish is wonderful too. I don't skimp on fat at ALL. I probably eat close to 100 grams (of fat) a day now. Fat, protein, veggies. ALL good. My advice is stay away from carbs...especially chocolate, I know that it's neutral, but I believe that (chocolate) to be a big contributing factor in my initial weight gain. Sweets=bad. Too many carbs=bad. I'm talking the "complex" kind. Veggies are carbs and you should eat plenty of them. Also I eat fruit once a day. I make a smoothie for breakfast with ground flax seed in it. Very good. I am just giving you an idea of what *one* O goes thru on a daily basis, after my initial "phase" into eating meat again and avoiding MOST avoids if not all of them, I dropped those couple pounds EASILY....this WILL work for you, hang in there, feel good, get LOTS of exercise...Hopefully we'll see you at our Goal Busters check-ins on Saturday Mornings!!!!!! :-) Smiles to you
