Healthy Eating and Tanning

I was reading that there's a possible connection between junk food diets and the increasing incidence of skin cancers. The medical profession has told us that any sun in bad: It causes cancer at worst and wrinkles at best. On the other hand, most cleansing programs recommend getting sun to help the healing process and boost the immune system. So, if we are getting healthy with ER4YT, wouldn't some sun be a good idea?
I've been slathering on 15-30 SPF sunscreen for the past 10 years, but it doesn't make sense to me to be putting chemicals all over my skin to protect myself from something that could potentially make me healthy.
Any ideas on this one?
Regards,
Myles (tired of being pale face)
