Elderberry caution

In Response To: A note of caution on Elderberries (Dr. D?) (Cindy Leonard-Krinsky)
It was posted that the bright red colored elderberries have a trace amount of a naturally occuring cyanide. By the time elderberries have matured to the dark purple color (which is by the way when they taste good). It has all been processed from cyanide to proanthrocyanidin (a very powerful, beneficial antioxidant.)
